For those of you who were in either of the two previous leagues, you are familiar with the Google Contracts link. If were not, here it is. It is a spreadsheet with every teams roster, player contracts, cap and roster limits. It will be used as the "official" list. So if you ever have a discrepancy, let me or Benny know so we can correct it. I have listed all contracts lengths ending when the players projects to reach 6 years of service time. This means that there could be a few contracts that could be listed with one more or one less year than they should have. I will update these as soon as Cots updates their service times. For players that do not have contracts that reach the 6 year mark, I have added "?" in the years that will take them to 6 years as placeholdrs to show the length of time the players will be "under your control." spreadsheets.google.com/pub?hl=en&hl=en&key=0AnEzehO7BW7ddEJVUUYzMkpZR1oxbC1fVm1BUkpMWHc&output=html

Doesn't look like the link is working. I'll try to get it fixed.

How do options work? If the club has the option on the contract to pick another 2 years for example. Do we have the option to keep the player if their option is picked up by the club.

No. All options count as part of player contracts.

Which is kindof unfortunate if a player gets hurt...
Also, Benny, I figured out why I was confused over this... you keep saying "options are part of the contract," which to mean always meant you get the make the choice on the options... but what you are trying to say is "it's mandatory to exercise all player/club options."

That's not what I'm trying to say...if they were mandatory, they wouldn't be options. I would say that a better way to say it (than is presently stated in the rules and elsewhere) is that "all club/player options on players' MLB contracts are included in the contracts for in this league"...or something like that.

Now I'm really confused. I thought we discussed this with CC Sabathia and it was decided that I was forced to keep him through 2015 despite the player opt-out option after this year?

Right: the options are...well, the "choice" parts of the options are not included. The financial portions are. The parts that are options in the MLB contracts are guaranteed over here.

Right, so it's mandatory to pick up all the options. I mean, you can always chuck a player on the waiver wire and hope somebody else takes the salary off your hands, but in this fantasy land, you have to pay as though you exercised the options, yeah?
